This site has been written (almost completely) by the children of Westdale Junior School together
with our school IT Co-ordinator.
Our first pages were ones about our school, when it opened and the pages about a day at Westdale. We have had some very nice e-mails from people who have looked at our home pages, including a school in Germany which used our first pages in their English lessons. They liked the information about "A Day at Westdale" because it is in the present tense and they could understand the verbs.
We have received greetings from many former pupils and from former teachers and their relatives. It is always interesting to hear from people who have memories of Westdale. If you were a pupil or teacher at our school, or have another connection, please e-mail us with your memories.
We were also very pleased when our school was one of the first to have a link to it from the government's Virtual Teachers' Centre site. Our pages are also one of only four primary school sites suggested as "sites to visit" on the NGfL Literacy page about children publishing their work on the internet.
Developments in the near future include putting on-line more examples of children's work from different classes. We will add more information for parents including copies of important letters sent home to all parents and, perhaps, add to our Community Information pages.
It is our policy NOT to publish the full names of our pupils on our school web pages nor to identify individuals shown in photographs. Unless otherwise stated on the page, we reserve the copyright to material presented on this web site.
From time to time we receive requests from individuals or organisations for permission for them to provide a link to our site. We are normally happy to grant this permission, but it is our policy not to provide reciprocal links.
