Autumn 2004

Six-a-side football

The footballers had a good start to the season in the area six-a-side football competition. Our team played a series of matches in a league of four teams to win its way through to the six-a-side finals.

The team had some more good matches in the finals, but didn't make it through to the semi-finals.

Harvest Festival Service

Lots of parents, relatives and friends came to our harvest service on 6th October. All the year groups presented interesting contributions. Year 6 told us about the situation of people in poorer countries who do not get a fair price for the goods that they grow and the Fair-trade scheme. Year 3 recited a poem and sang an autumn song and Year 4 presented a harvest alphabet. Year 5 reminded us of all the different sorts of workers (apart from farmers) who play their part in helping to put the food on our plates.

We sang several of our favourite harvest songs and, near the end of the service, Revd. Williams spoke to us.
