Our school has nine classrooms, a large hall and dining room. We have a large playground surrounded by trees.
At the moment we have eight classes: two Year 3, two Year 4, two Year 5 and two Year 6.
As well as our head teacher, we have ten class teachers (two pairs of teachers have job-share arrangements) and four teaching assistants. We have a secretary, a site manager, two cleaners and a team of midday supervisors.
Westdale Junior School was opened on Saturday the 20th June 1953. The school was opened by K. Pickthorn Esq MP.
There were speeches and the children sang some songs including the National Anthem.
The head teacher of the school when it was opened was Mr. F. Sumner.
Our present head teacher is Mrs. Hayles. She became the head at Westdale Junior School in 2007.
