There were a number of special events including a Jubilee Dinner, a reunion, a music concert, a fun afternoon and a special Summer Fair.
Jubilee Dinner Around 180 children and a good number of former pupils and staff of the school came for a 1950s school dinner. The menu was meat pie and vegetables for the main course then Manchester tart or chocolate sponge for pudding.
Music Concert The annual Summer Music Concert was brought forward in the school calendar to become part of the Jubilee Celebrations. The choir, orchestra, violinists and recorder players presented a variety of music to a large audience.
Fun Afternoon On the first day of Jubilee Week the children had an afternoon of special activities to celebrate the school’s jubilee. All the children took part in four different activities which included listening to different kinds of popular music from the last 50 years, playing favourite playground games from the 1950s, completing word searches and designing a poster for our Jubilee Summer Fair.
Summer Fair Jubilee Week ended with our Summer Fair on Saturday 14th June. For this special occasion the fair was opened by the Mayor of Gedling who came to cut a cake which had a picture of the school decorating it.
